The Procurement Specialist will review and analyze routine to complex procurement proposals, negotiate prices within an established range, recommend suppliers, review market trends, follow-up on orders placed, verify delivery, approve payment, and maintain necessary records to ensure purchase at the right quantity, right quality, right price and from the right source.
- Establish contact with vendors/suppliers to specify requirements, schedule deliveries and negotiate pricing. Negotiate pricing with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness and product availability. Purchase products within predetermined ranges. Obtain approval from management to purchase products over purchase limits or with long lead times.
- Evaluate vendors based on service levels as well as best pricing. Recommend changes in manufacturers to divisions when problems arise with service, price or product availability.
- Initiate and assist in the study, testing and launching of new or improved products or projects by recommending various alternatives.
- Continuously source new and better alternative supply sources.
- Initiate material improvements and developments based on technological advancements.
- Maintain current stock levels of regular items at all times by keeping inventory levels within safety stock and target quantity levels.
- Ensure that product costs are maintained at their optimum levels by negotiating for fair and reasonable prices of all purchased items; monitor price trends based on economic, political, and social factors and other reliable price indicators.
- Assist and coordinate with other divisions/departments in establishing systems and procedures.
- Graduate of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Economics, or Accounting.
- Has at least 1 year of experience in procurement but fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Good command of the English language; can communicate well with other divisions, departments, contractors, and suppliers.
- Able to do in-depth cost analysis and weigh advantages/disadvantages of given transactions.
- Able to make quick, objective and logical decisions on matters relating to the quality, quantity, price and timing of purchases in the best interest of the company.
- Willing to be assigned in Ortigas, Pasig (hybrid setup).
