Senior Australian Tax Specialist Role

This role involves providing tax consulting services to clients with complex structures involving multiple entities. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in Australian tax return preparation, including individual, company, trust, and SMSF returns.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, self-motivated, and deadline-driven. They will also have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review individual, company, trust, and SMSF tax returns in compliance with ATO regulations.
  • Manage multi-entity structures, including intercompany transactions, group consolidations, and tax planning.
  • Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS, FBT, and payroll tax returns.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance through detailed reconciliation and documentation.
  • Liaise directly with clients and internal teams to clarify tax positions and resolve issues.
  • Stay current with ATO updates and legislative changes.
  • Use cloud-based accounting and tax software, including Xero, MYOB, BGL, Class Super, and HandiTax.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Australian tax accounting.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing tax returns for complex, multi-entity structures.
  • Advanced proficiency in Xero, MYOB, BGL, Class Super, and other relevant platforms.
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Reliable home office setup with stable internet and a quiet working environment.
