Senior Legal Advisor Role

The Senior Legal Advisor plays a pivotal role in providing strategic legal advice and risk management solutions that align with the organization's goals. Ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations is paramount, supporting business operations by managing contracts, handling litigation, processing government permits and applications, and fostering a culture of ethical conduct.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert legal guidance to senior management and business units on corporate matters.
  • Ensure adherence to local, national, and international laws and regulations.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential legal and compliance issues.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records to ensure legal obligations are met.
  • Oversee permit and application processing with government agencies.
  • Serve as a liaison with regulatory authorities to address compliance requirements or resolve issues.
  • Assist in preparing board and shareholder meetings.
  • Advise on organizational policies and procedures to ensure they align with legal requirements.
  • Represent the organization in legal proceedings or coordinate with external counsel for litigation management.
  • Develop training programs on legal and compliance topics.
  • Stay informed about updates on relevant laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Possession of a J.D. qualification to practice law.
  • Law Degree (Juris Doctor or equivalent).
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in legal work within a law firm or as in-house counsel.
