Job Description

High voltage engineers design and install high voltage electrical equipment, as well as work with low voltage systems. They are responsible for developing design schedules and budgets, preparing conceptual engineering documents, and providing technical support during the project permitting phase.

They troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues in high voltage systems, communicate with stakeholders, and promote a customer-centric environment. Additionally, they define customer needs and requirements, ensure installations meet customer needs and safety standards, and stay up-to-date with new technologies.

Key responsibilities include conducting power system studies, analyzing PSCAD models, and preparing one-line and three-line diagrams. They must have excellent electrical engineering foundations and be knowledgeable about relevant safety codes and regulations.

Experience in high voltage electrical engineering is required, as well as knowledge of CAD software and electrical simulation tools. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are also necessary, along with proficiency in Microsoft Products.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or master's in electrical engineering or related field is required. The ideal candidate will have at least 3-4 years of experience in high voltage electrical engineering.

Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Knowledge of legislation and regulations in high voltage systems is a must, along with familiarity with CAD software and electrical simulation tools.

The candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Products, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams. Additionally, they should have strong analytical skills and be able to interpret complex data.
