Electrical Design Engineer

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and developing electrical systems that meet the highest standards of quality and safety. Your primary focus will be on ensuring compliance with local regulations and authority requirements for the region.

About the Role
  • You will design all electrical systems from scratch, taking into account the specific needs of our projects and the relevant standards and regulations.
  • Your expertise in AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks will be instrumental in creating detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts for electrical systems such as interior and exterior lighting design, small power distribution, equipment power distribution, cable routing, fire alarm, earthing, and lightning protection.
  • You will prepare comprehensive electrical design documents, including drawings, specifications, schedules, and technical reports, to ensure seamless project execution.

In this role, you will work closely with architects and other engineering disciplines to integrate electrical systems into project designs, ensuring a cohesive and functional outcome.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design electrical systems for various projects, ensuring compliance with local regulations and authority requirements.
  • Create detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts using AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.
  • Prepare electrical design documents, including drawings, specifications, schedules, and technical reports.
  • Collaborate with architects and other engineering disciplines to integrate electrical systems into project designs.
  • Conduct detailed electrical calculations, including load analysis, short-circuit analysis, voltage drop calculations, arc flash, and cable sizing.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably with a focus on Australian projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of local regulations and authority requirements for the Australian region.
  • Strong technical capabilities in AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.
  • Familiarity with electrical load calculations, power distribution, voltage drop analysis, arc flash, and cable sizing.
  • Proficient in using electrical engineering software tools for analysis and design.
