Financial Operations Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced real estate accounting professional with expertise in using Appfolio and Quickbooks online. This role involves managing financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations.

  • Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for real estate properties, adhering to accounting standards
  • Utilize Appfolio software for financial management, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions
  • Analyze and prepare financial statements, budgets, and cash flow reports to inform business decisions
  • Conduct regular financial closing processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Reconcile bank statements and accurately record transactions to prevent errors and discrepancies
  • Monitor and report on the financial performance of real estate assets to stakeholders
  • Support tax preparation and compliance efforts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Collaborate with property managers and other teams to provide financial insights and support
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial data and prevent unauthorized access
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in real estate accounting
  • Proficiency in Appfolio software and other accounting tools
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and real estate finance
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with large volumes of data
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Preferred Skills:
  • CPA certification
  • Experience with tax preparation and compliance
  • Knowledge of real estate laws and regulations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
