Job Role Overview

This surgical coordination position involves ensuring high-quality care for gastroenterology patients throughout their treatment journey. The key responsibilities include:

  • Scheduling surgeries and coordinating with medical staff to ensure seamless operations.
  • Acting as a liaison between patients, surgeons, and healthcare providers to facilitate effective communication and patient-centered care.
  • Managing pre-operative processes, including obtaining necessary patient information and insurance authorizations.
  • Providing patients with comprehensive information regarding surgical procedures, recovery, and follow-up care instructions.
  • Maintaining accurate and organized surgical records and documentation.
  • Coordinating with surgical teams and facilities to guarantee smooth operations on the day of surgery.
  • Assisting in managing post-operative care requirements for patients.
Key Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Surgical Coordinator or in a similar role within a healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of gastroenterology surgical procedures.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and scheduling software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a medical team.
  • Familiarity with insurance processes and prior authorization requirements.
