As a Caseworker, you will have the opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of young offenders and contribute to reducing re-offending rates. This role requires professional intervention and cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with human rights principles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide Strategic Support: Demonstrate cultural capability and provide consultancy, advice, and services to allocated portfolios, promoting positive outcomes for victims, young offenders, their families, and the community.
  • Manage Compliance and Interventions: Work effectively within a statutory environment to manage the dual roles of monitoring young offenders' compliance with court orders and intervening to address issues that place them at risk of re-offending.
  • Reduce Re-offending: Proactively work to reduce re-offending using culturally appropriate, collaborative, and evidence-based assessment and intervention skills, processes, and programs, including restorative justice activities.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve positive outcomes for victims, young offenders, their families, and the community.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present verbal and written reports to support best practice outcomes for young people in the justice system.
Mandatory Qualifications:
  • A tertiary degree relevant to the role, such as social work, behavioral science, or social science, criminology, or other recognized degree is required.
What We Can Offer:
  • Rural and Remote Incentive Allowance of $2500 every 6 months.
  • Locality Allowance paid fortnightly of $33.30 ($66.60 with dependents).
  • Ability to negotiate subsidized government employee housing if relocating.
  • Relocation expenses considered.
