Job Description

The role is an integral part of a finance transformation team within a rapidly growing industry.

You will be working closely with the finance team to support and advance financial system usage, particularly with core Workday Financial components.

This includes serving as a technology point of contact for financial functional areas, identifying and implementing systems and process improvements, and providing technical assistance to NCC finance teams.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial systems, accounting principles, and controls environment. They will also possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills.

The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities is essential for success in this role.

  1. Maintenance of a lean global chart of accounts structure that delivers both statutory and management accounts.
  2. Account dimension definition and maintenance used as the building blocks for quality, value-add reporting and recording financial transactions.
  3. Account posting rule definition and maintenance ensuring compliance with NCC policy and ethos of one company, one way.
  4. Collaboration with local Finance teams and system consultants to deliver local requirements for VAT and sales taxes.
  5. Integrations: Working with system consultants and local Finance teams to deliver finance integrations that are fit for purpose (such as banking/digital VAT returns/payroll).
  6. Month and year close process definition.

Required Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for a fully qualified accountant with good all-round experience of accounts, exposure to finance systems, and knowledge of the controls environment.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Ability to review and analyze data, identify issues and take appropriate corrective action.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in preparing accounts and supporting information.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in a highly pressurized environment.
  • Professional level of communication in verbal and written form.
  • Familiarity with IFRS accounting standards.
  • Sound knowledge of finance systems and processes.
  • Experience in at least two of the following areas: AP/AR, Banking, Journals, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Reporting, VAT.
  • Strong Excel knowledge.
