Functional Tester Role

We seek a meticulous and detail-oriented professional to join our Quality Assurance team. The ideal candidate will verify the functionality of financial solutions by performing testing, validating business logic, and ensuring high-quality releases.

  • The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and business analysts to ensure product excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze product requirements and business use cases to develop detailed test plans and test cases.
  • Execute functional, regression, integration, and system testing for web-based and API-driven financial applications.
  • Validate end-to-end business flows such as payments processing, transaction authorization, customer onboarding, and reporting.
  • Raise detailed defect reports and track resolution through Jira or other bug-tracking tools.
  • Work closely with developers and business analysts to resolve issues and clarify functional requirements.
  • Perform database validations using SQL and monitor backend logs to verify system behaviors.
  • Ensure test coverage for financial compliance, edge cases, and negative scenarios.
  • Contribute to test data management and test environment setup.
  • Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and QA retrospectives in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of experience in manual functional testing, preferably in a FinTech or Banking domain.
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and quality assurance methodologies.
  • Experience in testing financial applications such as payment gateways, wallets, core banking systems, or trading platforms.
  • Good knowledge of API testing using tools like Postman or Swagger.
  • Familiarity with SQL for backend validations and data setup.
  • Experience with test management and bug tracking tools such as Jira, Zephyr, TestRail, or AzureDevOps.
  • Knowledge of security, compliance, and data privacy considerations in financial systems is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Exposure to automation testing tools (e.g., Selenium, RestAssured) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of ISO 8583, PCI DSS, or ISO 20022 standards is a strong advantage.
