Job Overview

The role of a Credit Control Specialist is pivotal in ensuring timely collection of outstanding receivables from customers.

This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to resolving payment issues.

The specialist will work closely with internal departments and external customers to facilitate the collection process while maintaining positive relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Dunning Process Management
    • Manage overdue accounts, send reminder notices, statements, and communications to customers with outstanding balances.
    • Monitor and track responses to dunning communications, maintain and file Accounts Receivable Collections/Dunning Information.
    • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing various other duties as needed.
  • Credit Recovery Management
    • Contact customers via phone and email to follow up on overdue payments.
    • Negotiate payment plans and terms with customers to facilitate payment resolution.
    • Record all collection activities, maintain accurate documentation of customer interactions.
  • Dispute Resolution
    • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies or disputes in a timely manner.
    • Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to address customer concerns and disputes effectively.
  • Customer Relationship Management
    • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers to encourage timely payments.
    • Provide exceptional customer service and support to address inquiries related to billing and payment.
Requirements:
  • A proven track record in accounts receivable, credit control, or a related financial role.
  • Experience with SaaS companies preferred.
  • Proficiency with Hubspot and Chargebee, or equivalent CRM/Revenue systems.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of Excel experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of customer service experience.
  • A strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • The ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines.
  • Detailed oriented with high accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • A pleasant phone voice, strong computer skills, familiar with electronic record keeping, and a clean background required.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and business needs.
  • Strong ethical standards and commitment to maintaining customer confidentiality.
