Job Title: Risk Management Professional

This is a key role within the organization, responsible for ensuring effective operational risk management practices are in place across multiple businesses and geographies. The position will provide oversight and challenge to ensure risks and controls are effectively identified, assessed and monitored.

  • The professional will be part of the second line of defense - Independent Risk Management function and will work closely with the first line of defense businesses to promote and enhance awareness of risks and controls.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide effective oversight and challenge over risk domains (business continuity, third party risk, or change risk) and governance activities performed by business owners.
  2. Evaluate and identify non-compliance with standard requirements and escalate timely to direct managers.
  3. Recommend new controls where gaps have been identified.
  4. Review and assess incidents and operational loss events, perform root cause analysis and ensure that management logs them timely and that corrective actions plans are developed and implemented within given deadlines.
  5. Perform thematic reviews across businesses and/or segments and raise potential enterprise level problem or issue, and propose action plans.
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of three years in operational risk management or related fields such as audit or compliance, focusing on third-party risk management.
  • Strong understanding of operational processes, risks, and controls.
  • Broad knowledge of financial services and insurance business along with related products.
  • Experience with independent control design assessment and evaluating operating effectiveness.

  • Strong professional skepticism and detail orientation with excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to quickly understand business processes and their risk implications, analyze complex situations, and make valuable recommendations.
  • Results-oriented with a focus on quality, delivering value, and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to balance priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Solid written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong influencing skills to build effective relationships within and across divisions.
