Job Title: Chief Strategy and Information Officer

The role of the Chief Strategy and Information Officer is to provide strategic direction and oversee the provisioning of ICT, Business Information Systems, and organisational planning for Strategy and Organisational Performance Management and Reporting functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the development and implementation of Seda strategy and resourcing of strategic objectives in a sustainable manner.
  • Oversee the provision of Information and Communication services.
  • Oversee the provision of Business Information Systems services, including Knowledge Management.
  • Oversee the provision of Strategy and Organisational Performance management services.
  • Assure the embedding of risk, compliance, and audit practices in all Division processes and systems.
  • Manage the Division's resources (people, finance, and assets).
Requirements:
  • Matric (NQF Level 4) and Bachelor Degree (NQF Level 7), Honours Degree (NQF level 8) in Information Management/Systems or Business Administration plus a Master's Degree (NQF Level 9).
Experience:
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in a combination of Planning, Strategic Management, ICT, and Information Management/Systems environment, of which 5 years in a Senior Management role.
  • Knowledge and experience in strategy formulation, monitoring, and evaluation systems, organisational performance, and reporting.
  • Understanding of the public sector compliance environment.
  • Direct management of a major ICT operation.
  • Practical application of a project management approach such as PRINCE2 or PMBOK.
  • Understanding of ICT governance frameworks and quality standards e.g. COBIT and ITIL.
  • Understanding of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Understanding of Public Service governance framework.
