Content Clinical Specialist

The primary objective of this role is to source and analyze medical coding and billing documents in order to identify claim denial or covered criteria for an automated claims editing solution.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research to inform clinical content updates by sourcing medical coding and billing documents.
- Collaborate with a Medical Director and clinical colleagues to obtain consensus on proposed denial criteria through written and oral presentations.
- Provide clinical content support to customers as needed.
- Enter data into a database regarding clinical content updates, as required.
- Apply expertise in ICD-10-CM coding conventions and guidelines to resolve problems related to interpretation and inclusion/exclusion within business rules.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and Active RN License.
- Certification in AHIMA CCS-P or AAPC CPC, with at least 5 years of experience in CPT Coding, HCPCS, Medical Billing, Claims Denials, and/or Chart Review/Auditing.
- Previous experience working with US health insurance payers in claims, appeals, or coding capacity.
- Denial management or claim review management experience is advantageous.
- Excellent Communication Skills, enabling effective communication across all areas of the business.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
