Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Medical Writer to join our team. As a Medical Writer, you will be responsible for analyzing and documenting clinical requirements using best practices defined by Clinical Management.

You will validate clinical requirements in collaboration with subject matter experts to guarantee correct coding guideline interpretations.

Additionally, you will collaborate with the Rule Writers team and cross-functional team members to evaluate rule/policy behavior and confirm that solution requirements meet business expectations and align with client implementation standards.

Your role will also involve documenting content requirements to promote immediate post-release content maintenance handoffs, serving as a contributor to all user documentation, and assisting with end-user training activities.

Furthermore, you will support Quality Assurance test plan validation, perform user acceptance testing of policies and/or rules, and provide requirements subject matter expertise to internal and external clients.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in health information management, nursing, or other healthcare-related degree is required.
  • AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification or AHIMA CCS-P or CCS certification is required.
  • 5+ years of relevant healthcare experience, with at least 2 years as a payment/reimbursement or medical policy analyst, medical coder, medical claims processor, chart reviewer/auditor, or clinical editing analyst is required.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience with ClaimsXten solution is required.
  • Effective communication skills: able to present complex material clearly via multiple mediums are necessary.
  • Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and assess potential vulnerabilities is essential.
  • Superior critical thinking skills are necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle is preferred.
  • Master's degree in a healthcare-related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement and payment policies and methodologies is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of pre-payment editing and payment integrity is preferred.
