Global Development Events Specialist

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to support our special coverage team in creating impactful live journalism events, podcasts, and other digital content around critical global convenings.

This role requires strong editorial judgment, research skills, and ability to manage speaker correspondence, event logistics, and coordinate with internal teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with senior editors to shape how we cover key moments in global development.
  • Conduct research to explore issues that matter to our audience and identify innovators and thought leaders.
  • Help bring issues to life onstage by identifying and recommending speakers who can share insights and perspectives.
  • Manage communications with a roster of speakers, confirm speaking details, schedule briefing calls, collect and share key assets, and join speaker briefings.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong editorial judgment and keen sense for what matters to global development audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Minimum 3-5+ years of experience in journalism, editorial content creation, or event management.
  • Top-notch writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise content.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities with exceptional attention to detail and manage up and sideways as needed.
