Job Overview
We are seeking a seasoned finance professional to lead our financial accounting function, encompassing end-to-end general ledger processes, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, journal entries, and reconciliations.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in supporting Australian businesses, with expertise in managing offshore teams, building relationships with stakeholders, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of our entire financial accounting function, including end-to-end general ledger processes, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, journal entries, and reconciliations.
  • Lead monthly project costing, departmental reporting, and manage all R&D tax rebate submissions.
  • Drive continuous improvement of our financial policies and procedures, ensuring our systems are efficient, accurate, and scalable.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and consultants, ensuring all financial reporting is accurate and timely.
Requirements
  • Highly capable and experienced finance professional with a strong background supporting Australian businesses.
  • Bachelor degree in commerce and/or accounting and CPA qualification (or equivalent).
  • Existing Financial Controller or Finance Manager with 10+ years experience supporting an Australian based business (preferably with operations internationally).
  • Strong working knowledge of Australian payroll and GST legislation.
  • Proven experience managing offshore teams and building relationships with stakeholders across a business, along with the management of external auditors and tax consultants.
  • Experience/comfortable working in a fast-moving start-up / scale-up environment.
