Job Summary

This is a senior accounting role responsible for managing the bank's financial data and ensuring accurate evaluation, analysis, and execution of business decisions.

  1. Timely processing of operating and capital expenditures.
  2. Accurate preparation and submission of financial reports to internal and external stakeholders.
  3. Technical support on new and existing product lines.
  4. Leading, mentoring, and guiding the professional growth of the accounting team.
  5. Implementing and maintaining accounting systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Data Management
  1. Maintaining controls' effectiveness, making improvements as necessary.
  2. Ensuring timely and accurate financial data for decision-making processes.
  3. Collaboration with other departments to achieve overall business objectives.
  4. Serving as a subject matter expert in accounting and regulatory reporting.
Disbursement & Bookkeeping
  1. Overseeing payment processing for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  2. Month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  3. Preparation of trial balance and resolving discrepancies.
  4. Review of daily bookkeeping and adjustments.
Regulatory Reporting and Compliance
  1. Staying updated on regulatory changes from relevant bodies.
  2. Preparation and submission of accurate and timely regulatory reports.
  3. Handling audit requirements for examinations and similar engagements.
Reconciliation
  1. Reconciling all bank accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  2. Improving reconciliation activities' efficiency and accuracy.
  3. Monitoring float items and ensuring disposal in a timely manner.
Tax Compliance
  1. Ensuring tax compliance with local and national laws.
  2. Preparation and filing of tax returns, including income tax, GRT, and other applicable taxes.
  3. Liaising with tax authorities and advisors to resolve issues or audits.
