We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team in a critical role.

  • Maintain strong relationships with service providers to develop synergies for efficient and cost-effective services.
  • Analyze and update local ocean freight, warehouse, and trucking related charges, including drayage, LTL trucking, bullet/NAC rates, LCL rates, and non-tariff demurrage/detention.
  • Facilitate regular meetings with local carriers, including ocean service providers, truckers, co-loaders, and internal parties to provide competitive services and rates.
  • Promote origin/destination services by requesting rates from origin/destination offices and presenting them for customer approval, while saving relevant backup for retention purposes.
  • In cases where freight rates are unavailable, request rates from carriers as needed, ensuring mindful consideration of both cost and service alignment with customer needs.
  • Collaborate with the product manager to ensure required margins for selling new business, taking into account the scope of business and allocated resources.
  • Provide support to sales and account management teams on new opportunities regarding pricing and service strategy.
  • Respond promptly to pricing requests from local customers within 2 hours, providing same-day pricing unless unavailable, in which case regular updates will be provided to the customer.
  • Prepare quotes using the Quoting Tool or Approved Quote Format, as per company policy.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with Sales, Customer Service, and collect feedback for each quote, logging approval or rejection in the quoting database regularly.
  • Follow up on internal quote requests via email or phone within 1 day and again at 3 days; if no response is received after two follow-ups, mark the quote as rejected due to no response after 10 days has elapsed.
  • Update and maintain a quote log with feedback for market analysis.
  • Analyze the market regularly to gather information about carriers, transit times, services used, and report on potential customers and trending lanes to keep department managers informed about services, market trends, and issues.
  • Continuously develop tools and processes to optimize the pricing function.
  • Support operations on newly awarded business by sharing specific details and customer requirements with operations, creating a shell file to share with the customer and providing this file to operations for any spot business awarded.
