Job Role Summary

The Business Support Specialist plays a pivotal role in driving operational efficiency by managing Control Tower activities and serving as the primary point of contact for questions related to rates management.

Main responsibilities include uploading carrier/client rate sheets into the system, ensuring accuracy and consistency, and communicating any issues to the relevant Trade Lane Logistics Manager.

The Specialist is also responsible for proposing process improvements based on identified challenges and issues, processing workload allocations, and reporting irregularities in accordance with SOP guidelines.

Additional duties include actively contributing to process improvement ideas during daily stand-up meetings, accurately updating nominated systems and trackers, and generating stakeholder reports.

The Specialist works under the direction of a Team Leader and is expected to adapt to the company culture, perform in alignment with the organization's values and behaviors, and serve as an ambassador.

Key Skills and Qualifications

A background in freight forwarding or logistics education is beneficial. Knowledge of various transport management systems and experience with Tender/Rate management, Sales, and Commercial processes are advantageous.

Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook/Excel – Intermediate to Advanced level) and strong familiarity with web-based applications and the Internet are required.

Quick comprehension skills, resilience, and accurate and reliable work methodology are essential for success in this role.

Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, as well as excellent communication skills, are necessary for effective collaboration with various units within the organization.
