Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Lead Data Insights Analyst to support our investment team by analyzing startup ecosystems, building dashboards, and streamlining reporting to identify opportunities and make informed investment decisions.

This is a full-time and long-term role that requires a high degree of autonomy, independence, and self-motivation. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Analyzing startup databases and financial metrics to uncover early-stage investment opportunities;
  • Tracking industry trends, deal activity, and portfolio performance;
  • Supporting research efforts for new markets, sectors, and technologies;
  • Developing dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators and market developments;
  • Maintaining and improving internal databases of companies, contacts, and industry benchmarks;
  • Automating routine data tasks using Excel, SQL, or lightweight scripting;
  • Assisting in preparing reports, visuals, and summaries for internal and external stakeholders;
  • Supporting due diligence processes with data summaries and benchmarking;
  • Collaborating with associates and partners to deliver data-informed recommendations;

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, business intelligence, or consulting, with advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Python or R. They will also be able to work U.S. business hours (Pacific Time, Central Time, or Eastern Time) and have a permanent ability to work from anywhere in the world.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Data Science, or a related field;
  • 2–4 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or consulting;
  • Prior experience in startups or venture capital firms is strongly preferred; a demonstrated interest is a plus;
  • Advanced Excel skills;
  • Proficiency in Python or R;
  • SQL for querying structured datasets;
  • Familiarity with BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker;
