Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Event Director to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving revenue targets, developing and implementing comprehensive event management strategies, and building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve revenue targets across all event segments, including corporate events, meetings, M.I.C.E., socials, and weddings
- Develop and implement a comprehensive event management strategy aligned with the company's overall objectives and revenue targets
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to identify opportunities for attracting new clients and maximizing revenue from event bookings
- Conduct market research and stay informed about industry trends to ensure the company remains competitive in the events market
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, and individual customers to understand their needs and preferences
- Act as the main point of contact for clients throughout the event planning process, providing personalized service and attention to detail
- Conduct site visits and consultations to showcase event spaces, gather requirements, and tailor proposals to meet client specifications
- Oversee all aspects of event planning, including venue selection, catering, audiovisual equipment, décor, and entertainment
- Coordinate with various departments within the organization, such as event service, kitchen, housekeeping, and engineering, to ensure seamless execution of events
- Develop detailed event timelines and schedules, assign tasks to team members, and monitor progress to ensure events are delivered on time and within budget
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that promotes creativity, innovation, and teamwork
- Set and maintain high standards for service quality, presentation, and guest satisfaction across all events hosted at the organization
- Conduct post-event evaluations and gather feedback from clients and guests to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
- Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and excellence in event execution
Financial Responsibilities:
- Work with the Senior Management team to prepare and manage the department's budget
- Prepare and manage a cost-effective budget with measurable targets for the department
- Effectively monitor and analyze variations from the budget
- Develop systems that measure the cost-effectiveness of the department
- Develop procedures that track, report on, and control the running costs of the department
Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate awareness of OH&S policies and procedures and ensure all procedures are conducted safely and within OH&S guidelines
- Ensure that all subordinates follow OH&S policies and procedures
Government Compliance:
- Ensure completeness and validity of necessary permits and licenses
- Ensure the organization adheres to existing laws governing the industry
