About this Opportunity

Our organization delivers evidence-informed case management and individualized support to individuals in the community under various supervision orders imposed by the courts and Parole Board Queensland. The aim is to protect the community and reduce reoffending by providing tailored supervision that meets the individual risks and needs of supervised individuals.

This opportunity allows you to make a difference in your community as a Senior Case Manager (Rural and Remote).

The Senior Case Manager ensures a high level of community safety through the case management of adults subject to orders within the community. They act in accordance with assessed risk and need, maintaining high standards of assessment practices that facilitate effective supervision and improve reintegration and rehabilitation of individuals subject to community-based orders.

The role involves consulting with relevant Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and organizations to assist in closing the gap of Indigenous over-representation within the criminal justice system.

Main Responsibilities
  • Negotiate and resolve conflicts with stakeholders at all levels to gain commitments and negotiate service delivery, priorities, deadlines, resources and other relevant issues.
  • Work self-sufficiently and cope with the pace, complexity and multi-tasking required in the operating environment.
  • Demonstrate experience working within a legislative framework that underpins a core service delivery area.
  • Build and manage ongoing working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Negotiate with key stakeholders, who often have competing interests, on sensitive and complex issues.
  • Develop written and oral communication skills.
Key Requirements
  • A driver's license, minimum C class Australian license, is a mandatory requirement due to travel and work across various locations.
  • Working hours may exceed normal hours, require travel to other locations or temporarily work from an alternate location.
  • Certificate IV in Correctional Practice (Community) must be completed within 12 months of commencing employment and certification achieved within 18 months.
