The Senior Case Manager plays a pivotal role in protecting the community and reducing reoffending through tailored supervision that addresses the unique risks and needs of supervised individuals.

A key aspect of this position is maintaining high standards of assessment practices, facilitating effective supervision, and improving reintegration and rehabilitation outcomes for individuals subject to community-based orders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Case Management: Provide comprehensive case management services to adults subject to community orders, prioritizing safety, risk assessment, and rehabilitation.
  • Risk Assessment: Operate in accordance with assessed risk and need, ensuring high standards of assessment to support effective supervision.
  • Reintegration and Rehabilitation: Facilitate reintegration and improve rehabilitation outcomes for individuals under community-based orders.
  • Culturally Informed Practices: Consult with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and organizations to develop culturally informed practices and address Indigenous over-representation in the criminal justice system.
Requirements:
  • Possession of a driver's licence (minimum C class Australian licence) is mandatory due to the requirement for travel across various locations.
  • May be required to work outside normal working hours and travel to other locations or temporarily work from an alternate location.
  • Individuals employed on a permanent or temporary basis will be required to complete Certificate IV in Correctional Practice (Community) within 12 months of commencing employment and achieve certification within 18 months.

  • The successful applicant may be eligible for relocation expenses under the Transfer and Appointment Expenses Directive.
  • Allowances will apply where applicable as negotiated in accordance with the Domestic Travelling and Relieving Expenses Directive.
  • Applications will remain current for 12 months.
