Key Leadership Role for a Financial Operations Team

About the Job

We are seeking an experienced financial professional to lead our day-to-day financial operations. This is a key leadership role where you will be responsible for ensuring accurate reconciliations and maintaining audit-ready records.

This position involves leading the month-end close process, preparing timely financial reports, managing and mentoring a team of finance and accounting staff members, ensuring compliance with GAAP and DCAA standards, and collaborating with project managers and accountants on project status reviews, margin analysis, and billing support.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, a minimum of 7 years of experience at the Controller level in Professional services or a Project-Based firm, in-depth knowledge of GAAP and Project Accounting, background in auditing and reconciliations, and strong Excel skills and experience with Deltek VantagePoint preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the month-end close process, preparing timely financial reports.
  • Manage and mentor a team of approximately 7 finance and accounting staff members.
  • Ensure financial reporting and accounting practices comply with GAAP and DCAA standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers and accountants on project status reviews, margin analysis, and billing support.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience at the Controller level in Professional services or a Project-Based firm.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP and Project Accounting.
  • Background in auditing and reconciliations.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with Deltek VantagePoint preferred.
