Senior Tax Specialist Position

The organization is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Tax Specialist to lead the tax team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare complex returns using Ultra Tax software.
  • Review individual and business tax returns prepared by staff.
  • Provide in-depth tax planning insights and recommendations to clients.
  • Manage engagement scope, deadlines, and budgets effectively.
  • Supervise and train junior tax accountants.
  • Communicate with clients regarding complex issues and deliverables.
  • Identify and resolve technical tax issues.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Requirements:
  • CPA license required.
  • Master of Taxation degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of tax experience, including review responsibilities.
  • Proficiency with Ultra Tax and related tax preparation software.
  • Strong leadership skills, including team supervision and coaching.
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements while meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualities:
  • Knowledge of task management tools.
  • Knowledge of Optical Character Recognition (OCR) tools.
  • Self-directed, highly motivated, accurate, and reliable.
  • Unafraid to make your voice heard.
  • Offers options and recommendations to problems.
