Compliance Officer

The purpose of this role is to provide assurance and support in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The Compliance Officer will work alongside the Compliance Team, overseeing obligations management, controls identification, and deep dive reviews into emerging compliance risks.

Liaising across teams to ensure policy implementation is a key responsibility of this role. Additionally, the Compliance Officer will assist in developing and implementing compliance strategy, ensuring processes meet business, regulatory, and legal requirements.

  • Maintain detailed knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements for reinsurance and insurance intermediation, Lloyds requirements (as relevant), and awareness of relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in the execution of operational strategies and plans in support of the business, assisting in the development of policies, guidance, and processes to ensure business meets its regulatory requirements.
  • Drive and monitor compliance across Statutory and Regulatory obligations and requests to ensure business compliance. Provide compliance management information to senior management, including contributions to board and committee reports/packs.
  • Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with key internal and external business stakeholders to ensure that service delivery meets the business expectations.
  • Ensure that the business complies with management directives, compliance, and governance requirements across guidelines and policies.
  • Monitor and assess ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements to ensure licenses are maintained and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Manage regulatory applications where required and ensure accuracy, completeness, and submission of regulators.
  • Recognize and assess potential risks to objectives and take action to remove or reduce impact or probability of the risk occurring.

This role requires moderate relevant experience. Necessary qualifications include a tertiary degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Qualifications and certifications as a lawyer are also desirable.

This position involves driving compliance across statutory and regulatory obligations, maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, and ensuring business meets its regulatory requirements. It is a rewarding role for those who enjoy working in compliance and regulation.
