Remote Patient Liaison

Our organization is seeking a skilled Remote Patient Liaison to handle patient intake and communication. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, responding to patient inquiries, and facilitating the scheduling of appointments with our medical team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Initial Assessment: Conduct thorough initial assessments of patient needs, ensuring accurate information gathering and efficient communication with patients in urgent or stressful situations.
  • Patient Information Gathering: Obtain and record detailed client information, including personal details, location, and a summary of symptoms or chief complaints. Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity when handling personal health information.
  • Appointment Scheduling: Schedule same-day or urgent appointments based on patient availability and doctor schedules. Utilize electronic medical records (EMRs) or CRM systems to input all details with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Doctor Coordination: Determine and assign the appropriate doctor for each case based on patient symptoms, location, and timing. Use internal rosters and location mapping to identify the best-suited doctor for home visits or remote consultations.
  • Communication & Follow-Up: Send confirmation details and informative follow-ups to patients and doctors via email or other preferred methods. Ensure patients understand appointment expectations and necessary preparations.
  • Post-Appointment Follow-Up: Verify successful completion of appointments and document any outcomes or feedback from patients and doctors.
  • Issue Resolution & Troubleshooting: Manage logistical issues arising during the intake or appointment process. Resolve scheduling conflicts, missed connections between patients and doctors, and troubleshoot technical difficulties with telehealth links or payment processing.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Customer Service Experience: 1+ years of experience in customer-facing roles, preferably in healthcare or a related industry.
  • Effective Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a clear speaking voice and strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional multitasking and time-management skills to prioritize tasks, manage multiple incoming calls, and schedule appointments efficiently.
  • Tech Savvy: Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMRs), scheduling software, or CRM tools, as well as basic proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Suite.
  • Problem-Solving: Critical thinking and decision-making skills to resolve complex scheduling conflicts and logistical issues while maintaining a calm demeanor under pressure.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to recording patient information, scheduling details, and follow-up notes accurately to avoid errors in appointment times, contact information, or billing details.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with remote teams across time zones, communicate effectively, and maintain seamless handovers of ongoing cases.
