Job Summary

This is a remote position for a skilled bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial operations, process invoices and payments, and collaborate with the director on job costing.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in bookkeeping using Xero and proficiency with Dext. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential in both financial and admin tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reconcile accounts, process invoices, manage expenses, and handle general ledger entries.
  • Capture, code, and file supplier receipts and invoices using Dext; ensure digital documents are organized and audit-ready.
  • Process and track accounts payable and receivable, prepare supplier payments and chase incoming payments as needed.
  • Collaborate with the director to support accurate job costing: allocate materials, labour, and overhead to relevant projects.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements regularly.
  • Prepare monthly management reports: P&L, cash-flow statements, project cost summaries.
  • Assist with BAS preparation and liaise with external accountants for GST and tax matters.
Requirements
  • Proven experience (2+ years) in bookkeeping using Xero.
  • Proficiency with Dext (or similar receipt-capturing tools).
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping workflows: invoicing, reconciliation, tracking expenses, and job costing.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail in both financial and admin tasks.
  • Comfortable working in a small, collaborative team where adaptability is key.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
