Job Opportunity

Are you passionate about mentoring and training? We are seeking a part-time In-Field Mentor to support missionaries in their first twelve weeks in the field.

This role involves training remotely using Preach My Gospel principles and other missionary resources. Mentors will work within the In-Field Missionary Learning and Development division, following an approved curriculum and participating in pilots and initiatives as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Provide instruction, counsel, and feedback to missionaries through one-on-one coaching, small group facilitation, and regular follow-up.
  • Plan and prepare sessions based on the approved curriculum to meet the missionary's needs.
  • Direct missionaries in planning and accounting for their learning.
  • Implement direction and training from senior leadership.
  • Attend weekly training meetings and one-on-ones with the Mentor Trainer.
  • Ensure continued growth, development, and understanding of In-Field MLD practices and PMG curriculum.
  • Report on needs and progress of assigned tasks to leadership.
  • Coach missionaries in preparation for and during practice, live sessions, and follow-up.
  • Ensure the well-being of each missionary.
Requirements
  • Returned missionary of less than 3 years or currently teaching at an MTC unless exceptional language need is identified.
  • Ability to communicate (verbal and written) at a high proficiency in English.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Outstanding coaching, facilitation, and training skills and abilities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Preach My Gospel.
  • Ability to train remotely through video calls on a desktop or laptop.
  • Excellent interpersonal, prioritizing, professionalism, and leadership skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work well with people.
  • Willing to receive and implement feedback.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Returned missionary of 2 years or less
  • MTC classroom teaching or tutoring experience
  • Experience with online interactions including chat, video conference, etc.
  • Fluency in a second language
