Job Overview

Procurement Specialist Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join our team. This role will support Inventory Planning and Procurement initiatives by ensuring timely and accurate placement of purchase orders, negotiating PO terms with vendors, and monitoring vendors' compliance with agreed ship dates.

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement and supply chain operations.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement Operations

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring timely and accurate placement of purchase orders.
  • Negotiating PO terms with vendors to reach acceptable agreements.
  • Monitoring vendors' compliance with agreed ship dates.
  • Tracking all orders and shipments to ensure correct and on-time delivery of goods.

This includes partnering closely with the Operations team and external partners to ensure timely and accurate execution of inventory plans.

Data Management

The Procurement Specialist will also be responsible for:

  • Creating, managing, and auditing large data sets in support of various Planning and Procurement functions.
  • Supporting the Planning team in the execution of demand forecasting and supply planning.
  • Partnering with merchant teams in planning for New Product Introductions.
  • Collaborating with the Operations team in shipment scheduling and warehouse allocation.

This includes facilitating the transfer and implementation of data between various systems, databases, and spreadsheets.

Vendor Relations

The Procurement Specialist will develop effective communication strategies and maintain good business relations with vendors.

  • Develops effective communication strategy and maintains good business relations with vendors.
  • Monitors the purchasing mailbox and serves as the point of contact for vendors on all PO concerns.
  • Assists the merchandising team with vendor onboarding.
  • Maintains and keeps records of vendor contracts and insurance certificates.
