Chief Financial Strategist

We seek an accomplished finance professional to fill a critical leadership role. As a senior leader, you will drive strategic financial planning, execution, and reporting to support our growth objectives.

In your first 90 days, you will take ownership of the finance function, streamline monthly close processes, and deliver actionable performance insights. Within your first year, you will transform finance into a proactive engine for scale, ensuring clean, audit-ready reporting, optimized cash management, and trusted financial visibility across the organization.

• Deliver accurate and insightful monthly financials by owning and executing a standardized monthly close process.
• Maintain and optimize cash flow strategy by managing a weekly-updated 12-month rolling cash forecast.
• Lead forecasting and budgeting across the business by planning and launching the annual budgeting and forecasting cycle.
• Build scalable financial systems and operational workflows by documenting core finance workflows and implementing streamlined systems for expense approvals and reimbursements.
• Drive profit optimization across departments by delivering monthly EBITDA analysis and partnering with leaders to implement cost-saving and margin improvement opportunities.

Regular Work Activities:

• Manage accounts receivable and payable to maintain cash flow and ensure accurate reconciliation.
• Monitor daily cash positions and oversee use of credit float strategies.
• E nsure GAAP compliance and manage internal controls.
• Oversee payroll and benefits administration for accuracy, timeliness, and legal compliance.
• Sustain tax compliance by overseeing accurate and timely sales tax filings and payroll tax submissions.
• Optimize financial tools to streamline workflows and reduce manual work.
• Reconcile inventory regularly and validate COGS entries in partnership with operations.
• Provide financial analysis to support key business decisions and capital planning.
• Cross-functionally collaborate with teams to assess financial impact and support growth initiatives.
• Maintain dashboards and scorecards to ensure clear visibility into performance.

• Leverage advanced tools such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Excel to optimize financial management and reporting processes.
• Inspire, mentor, and lead teams while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Communicate complex financial concepts clearly and effectively to stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
• Thrives in dynamic environments, quickly adjusting to new challenges and evolving business needs.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (MBA/CPA strongly preferred).
• 5+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proven success building scalable finance systems and strategic reporting processes.
• Experience in multi-channel eCommerce or retail preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to influence executive decisions through financial insight.
