Job Overview

Vault Cloud is a leading provider of secure cloud solutions to the Australian Government and Critical Infrastructure sector.

The company has pioneered the development of Australia's only sovereign, hyperscale cloud with security at its core and continues to drive innovation in the sector.

As Vault Cloud enters a defining phase of growth with a strategic investment from the National Reconstruction Fund Corporation (NRFC), it is expanding its corporate team and seeking a skilled Financial Controller to take ownership of its entire financial accounting function.

This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the finance department and build key processes that will support the company's rapid growth.

The successful candidate will work closely with the leadership team in Australia, including the CFO, to provide critical financial insights that drive business forward.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the financial accounting function, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, journal entries, and reconciliations.
  • Oversee key financial activities, including monthly project costing, departmental reporting, and R&D tax rebate submissions.
  • Enhance financial systems by driving continuous improvement of financial policies and procedures.
  • Manage external relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and consultants.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, preferably supporting Australian businesses. They will hold a Bachelor degree in commerce and/or accounting and CPA qualification or equivalent.

The successful candidate will also have existing experience as a Financial Controller or Finance Manager with 10+ years' experience supporting an Australian based business, preferably with operations internationally.

They will possess a strong working knowledge of Australian payroll and GST legislation and proven experience managing offshore teams and building relationships with stakeholders across a business.

Experience working in a fast-moving start-up/scale-up environment would be highly desirable.
