We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and excellent organizational skills.

Job Description

The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for performing day-to-day accounting functions, specializing in accounts payable duties. This includes invoicing, manual check application, aging reports, and account reconciliation. The successful candidate will also assist in the preparation of financial statements and information for tax accountants, as well as various other duties.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Performs Accounts Payable functions including invoicing, manual check application, aging reports, and account reconciliation.
  • Enters routine journal entries and bank transactions.
  • Enters AP bills and credit card transactions if needed.
  • Performs month-end closing and reconciliation.
  • Reconciles, investigates, corrects, and adjusts accounting information.
  • Performs bank reconciliation.
  • Supports department peers as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The following skills and qualifications are required for this role:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Combinations of Training and Experience.
  • 2 years of accrual basis accounting working experiences including accounts payable, journal entries, month-end closing and reconciliation, and bank reconciliation.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to interact within all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrates ability to successfully plan, organize and manage projects.
  • Detail-oriented, excellent proofreading and editing skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, organized, able to prioritize and work independently.
  • Exceptionally self-motivated and directed.
