
Medical Scheduling Coordinator

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented customer service specialist to join our team, specializing in family medicine and internal medicine support.
This role is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients over the phone, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and maintaining accurate patient records.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide professional and courteous greetings to callers, addressing their needs promptly.
- Schedule primary care appointments including annual exams, chronic care follow-ups, acute visits, and preventive screenings.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility, including co-pays, deductibles, and network status.
- Maintain and update patient records accurately in Athena EHR.
- Assist with patient portal setup and troubleshooting.
This role requires a strong understanding of primary care visit types, referral processes, and insurance requirements. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements:- 2+ years of experience in a medical office setting, preferably in family medicine or internal medicine.
- Proficiency in Athena EHR, including scheduling, documentation, and patient communication features.
- Strong knowledge of primary care visit types, referral processes, and insurance requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Promote positive patient outcomes through effective communication and scheduling.
- Ensure seamless transitions between clinical staff and administrative tasks.
