Financial Controller Job Description

Overview:

The Financial Controller is a critical role in our organization, responsible for overseeing financial operations across various entities. This position requires strong analytical and leadership skills, with the ability to manage complex priorities and make strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Management:
  • Manage entity-level financial processes, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, inter-company coordination, and financial controls.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including AASB standards and OECD transfer pricing guidelines.
  • Leadership and Team Management:
  • Provide strategic guidance and direction to junior finance staff, ensuring effective team performance and development.
  • Collaborate with external advisors, such as tax, legal, and audit professionals, to ensure optimal financial management and decision-making.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Advanced proficiency in Xero or similar ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with expense management tools and group-level modeling and forecasting in Excel or Google Sheets.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or CA certification required.
  • Minimum of 7 years in financial management, with at least 3 years of experience working within a multi-entity group structure.
  • Experience in media, entertainment, or event-based industries is preferred.
