Job Overview

We're seeking a seasoned engineering leader to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving technical excellence and building strong connections across our primarily UK-based team.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of engineers, including recruitment and onboarding.
    • Oversee the development and delivery of features within the assigned product area.
    • Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and the Agile Delivery Manager.
    • Implement and maintain Scrum methodology with 2-week sprints.
    • Conduct regular one-on-ones and team meetings.
    • Participate in bi-weekly Stakeholder Demos.
    • Manage technical debt and refactoring efforts.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning.

You'll be responsible for driving technical excellence and building strong connections across our primarily UK-based team.

  • Requirements:
  • Proven experience in engineering management or team leadership.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum and Kanban.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to mentor and develop engineering talent.
  • Experience with continuous integration and deployment practices.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, particularly AWS.
  • Understanding of microservices architecture and containerisation (Kubernetes).

Preferred Knowledge:

  • Experience with PHP and Laravel framework.
  • Familiarity with AWS services, particularly RDS and EKS.
  • Knowledge of database technologies, including MySQL and Redis.
  • Experience with or willingness to learn Kafka and Databricks.
  • Understanding of frontend technologies and frameworks.

Cultural Fit:

  • Comfortable working with a UK-based engineering, product, and design team, bridging time zones and communication styles.
