We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Transportation Operations Director to oversee and optimize our logistics and fleet operations. This role is critical in ensuring timely, cost-effective, and efficient delivery of goods while maintaining compliance, safety, and service excellence.
This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic transportation plans to improve delivery efficiency and reduce costs. They will manage day-to-day transportation operations including routing, scheduling, dispatching, and fleet management.

- Manage day-to-day transportation operations including routing, scheduling, dispatching, and fleet management.
- Monitor KPIs (on-time delivery, cost per mile, fuel usage, etc.) and implement improvements.
- Coordinate with warehouse, logistics, procurement, and customer service teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Select, negotiate, and manage contracts with external carriers or third-party logistics providers (3PLs).
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international transport regulations (safety, environmental, customs).
- Lead, train, and evaluate transportation staff and drivers.
- Oversee maintenance and inspection of company vehicles to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
- Use transportation management systems (TMS) and other logistics tools to track shipments and optimize operations.
In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives. You will have the opportunity to develop and implement new strategies to drive business growth and improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with carriers and 3PL providers.
- Monitor and analyze transportation performance metrics.
- Identify areas for cost savings and implement process improvements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on transportation strategy.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- At least 3-5 years of progressive experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management.
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, compliance, and best practices.
- Proven experience in fleet management and route optimization.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Proficient in transportation management systems (TMS), fleet tracking software, and MS Office tools.
