Meeting and Events Manager

The Meeting and Events Manager is responsible for managing the planning, coordination, and execution of conferences, banquets, and other events to achieve optimum departmental revenue targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage sales visits, telephone calls, letters, emails and invitations to clients to visit the hotel
  • Follow up on all enquiries and analyse statistical information to identify business opportunities
  • Entertain clients to secure business or strengthen ties when required
  • Negotiate terms pertinent to the sale of conference and banqueting services
  • Conduct site inspections and tour familiarizations to promote the hotel's offerings
  • Conduct client interviews to understand their needs and preferences
  • Attend trade shows and sell conference space to potential clients
  • Monitor competitor activities and use information to develop strategies that drive business growth
  • Maintain regular contact with regional hotels and reservation networks to stay informed about market trends and developments
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including business generators, meeting and convention planners, visitors/convention Bureau/travel agents, tour operators, airlines, corporate accounts, Government Departments and other producers closely allied to hotel business
  • Assist in the co-ordination of conference sales/promotional events and activities to drive business results
  • Assist in the operation of banquet functions to ensure exceptional guest experiences

Requirements:

  2. Develop and implement sales strategies to drive business growth and increase revenue
  3. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to drive repeat business and referrals
  4. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments to inform business decisions and strategy
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional events and experiences
