Payroll Operations Specialist

Job Summary:

As a Payroll Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for independently processing payroll from start to finish. This involves ensuring timely delivery and adherence to agreed key performance indicators (KPIs).



Key Responsibilities:
  1. Process payroll end-to-end with minimal supervision, adhering to internal policies and procedures.
  2. Support statutory and year-end reporting in accordance with established calendars and KPIs.
  3. Provide expert advice on payroll-related queries and issues, ensuring a strong understanding of country-specific legislation.
  4. Collaborate with other teams to mentor and knowledge transfer apprentices and associates on data management and customer service activities.
  5. Respond promptly to tickets and calls within agreed service level agreements (SLAs) timescales and to a high standard.
  6. Contribute to system maintenance testing and liaise with third parties as required.
  7. Ensure completion of SOC controls on time, providing necessary evidence.
  8. Participate in root cause analysis, suggesting preventative measures to minimize reoccurrence.
  9. Deliver knowledge transfer sessions and ensure audience comprehension.
  10. Maintain up-to-date documentation of processes and procedures, reflecting the latest service improvements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivation and willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and systems.
  • Ability to collaborate and work independently, adhering to internal policies and procedures.
  • Relevant degree in a business-related field (accounting, human resources, business administration) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-3 years relevant experience administering payroll or health and welfare/benefits in an HR consulting, HR outsourcing, or corporate environment.
  • Knowledge of HR information systems (HRIS): Workday, SAP, or PeopleSoft preferred.
