Job Title: Spare Parts and Storeroom CoordinatorJob Description:

This role is responsible for implementing maintenance and calibration programs, work instructions, and guidelines to ensure the quality, safety, and trouble-free operation of production equipment.

The position involves formulating work instructions and guidelines for the operation, preventive maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of production equipment. It also requires assessing and updating objectives as needed, preparing requisitions for maintenance materials and supplies, and participating in preventing and controlling waste in supplies, energy, manpower, and overhead costs.

In addition, this role includes managing spare parts and maintaining adequate minimum stock levels to ensure uninterrupted supply. This involves establishing and controlling stocking levels for parts and equipment using a computerized inventory system, performing periodic cycle counts and physical inventory audits, and receiving and unpacking parts, verifying the accuracy of shipments from vendors, part numbers, and quantities.

The job holder will maintain the cleanliness and organization of the stock room, perform routine housekeeping duties in the part room, shop, and work area, and maintain and keep current Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and the SDS log. They will also investigate and reconcile inventory reports and perform other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:
  • A 2-4 year degree program in any stream; technical knowledge is an added advantage
  • Knowledge of computer applications such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience in a storeroom, warehouse, inventory management, or material handling, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Good organizational and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
