The role of Local Communications Network Specialist is crucial for integrating local communications networks with surveillance systems. This position requires a professional with experience in the design, installation, and maintenance of local communication networks.

This specialist will conduct assessments, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of local communications networks across project sites. They will also assist in integrating local communications network components with surveillance systems, including radar, AIS, EO/IR, and COP platforms.

In this role, you will collaborate with ICT, OT, HF/VHF, and cybersecurity teams to ensure secure, stable, and efficient communications. You will contribute to the planning and recommendation of equipment procurement, installation, and long-term sustainment. Additionally, you will provide training and technical guidance to personnel on local communications operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures.

To be successful in this role, you must possess over 5 years of direct experience in the design, installation, and maintenance of local communication networks. You should also have familiarity with maritime and coastal surveillance communications infrastructure, including knowledge of existing systems, networks, and technologies used for vessel monitoring, radar, AIS (Automatic Identification System), and related communication platforms.

You will need to have in-depth knowledge of HF/VHF/UHF radio systems, including their configuration, operation, and maintenance for maritime and coastal surveillance applications. You will also need to demonstrate your ability to provide technical support, conduct system diagnostics, and recommend solutions for optimizing communications infrastructure performance.
