Role Overview

As a highly skilled and experienced Senior System Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving the implementation, support, and operationalization of cutting-edge Microsoft 365 and Azure solutions for clients.

You will be responsible for guiding technical teams during pilot launches, ensuring the highest standards of security are met, and mentoring junior engineers to develop their skills and expertise.

This position requires a strong technical background in Microsoft 365, Azure, and related technologies, coupled with excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with both technical IT teams and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and support new Microsoft 365 and Azure solutions, ensuring seamless performance, security, and scalability.
  • Provide expert technical support during client onboarding, utilizing chat-based support as the primary channel, escalating to MS Teams calls as necessary.
  • Migrate client data and applications into Microsoft 365 and Azure environments, ensuring a smooth transition.
  • Develop and deploy M365 capabilities to align clients with best practices, optimizing design, security, and functionality.
  • Review client systems and provide recommendations to enhance design, security, and functionality.
  • Maintain accurate client documentation, standard templates, policies, and automation for consistent deployment.
  • Offer remote escalation support for complex technical issues beyond Tier II.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers within the Microsoft support team.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend innovative tools and technologies to elevate client environments.
  • Administer cloud-integrated solutions, including cloud backups, MDR, and vulnerability management.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and after-hours support as required.
  • Stay current on evolving technologies, frameworks, and best practices.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, plus 4+ years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven track record in Microsoft 365 and Azure implementation and support.
  • Current vendor or industry-recognized certifications in Microsoft 365 or Azure (mandatory).
  • Deep expertise in Microsoft 365 and Azure (including EntraID, Intune, and Security capabilities).
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 licensing models.
  • Proficiency with at least two of the following:
  • Microsoft server and desktop environments
  • Patch management
  • Backup technologies
  • Vulnerability management
  • Proficiency with scripting/automation (PowerShell or Python).
  • Knowledge of security frameworks (NIST CSF, CIS CSC).
  • Strong grasp of Active Directory, EDR, firewalls, and best-practice architectures.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and documentation skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and mentor others.
  • Experience mentoring and leading junior engineers.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted ticketing and support tools.
