Medical Coding Role
">The IP Medical Coder plays a crucial role in accurately assigning diagnosis and procedure codes to patient types using ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS or other designated coding classification systems. This is done in accordance with coding rules and regulations, ensuring compliance and data integrity.
Patient Types: Low acuity inpatient, OB/NB, acute psych, 1-day stays are key areas of focus for this position.
Responsibilities- Extract relevant clinical information from medical records with precision and accuracy.
- Code diagnoses and procedures correctly, including modifiers, and resolve any coding discrepancies.
- Respond to audits and make necessary changes to coding accounts based on agreed findings.
- Maintain the highest standards of ethical coding as set forth by AHIMA.
- At least 1 year of experience performing inpatient medical record coding is essential.
- AHIMA or AAPC coding credentials (CPC, CIC, CCS) are required for this role.
- This role can be performed from home.
- Location: Taguig
- Shifting schedule (morning shift / mid shift) with 2 consecutive rest days.
- 20 Paid Time Off (PTO) per year.
