Project Estimator Role

The construction project estimator will analyze plans, conduct quantity takeoffs and create comprehensive estimates of project scope.

Responsibilities:
  • Organize project data and identify missing or conflicting scope details to ensure successful project feasibility.
  • Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs for commercial projects, including materials such as demolition, asphalt, curb, concrete, masonry, steel, framing, glass storefronts, HVAC ducts, plumbing, electrical components, and conduit/wire.
  • Assist with construction document reviews, redlining, and requests for information using specialized software.
  • Estimate project components, such as materials, labor, and equipment, required to complete the project using Microsoft Excel and existing cost data.
  • Maintain open communication lines with project management teams.
  • Review and finalize takeoffs with the team and input them into an estimate in Excel or similar software for use in buyout and execution phases.
Requirements:
  • PREFERRED: Degree in construction, engineering, business management/finance/accounting or related fields.
  • Knowledge of construction components and their applications.
  • Commercial construction experience across multiple trades is PREFERRED.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Planswift, and electronic takeoff software.
  • Ability to understand and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and renderings.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, high-quality work.
