Software Licensing Professional

We are seeking an experienced software licensing expert to manage and optimize software licenses within an organization.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software asset management (SAM) and expertise in managing licenses for multiple publishers, including proprietary, open source, and cloud-based licenses.

  • Monitor and enforce compliance with software licensing agreements to prevent legal issues and financial penalties.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to negotiate and acquire software licenses at the most favorable terms and pricing.
  • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of software licenses, tracking usage, expiration dates, and renewal requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce software licensing costs while maintaining required functionality.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with software vendors, staying informed about updates, changes in licensing models, and future licensing trends.
  • Establish and implement software licensing policies and guidelines to ensure consistency and compliance across the organization.
  • Conduct regular software license audits, prepare reports, and provide recommendations for optimization.
  • Provide education and training to internal teams on software licensing compliance and best practices.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, business, or a related field (master's degree preferred).
  • In-depth knowledge of software licensing models, including proprietary, open source, and cloud-based licenses.
  • Experience managing IBM Licenses and other enterprise licenses.
  • Experience in negotiating software licensing agreements.
  • Familiarity with license management tools and software asset management (SAM) practices.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills and collaboration skills to work effectively in a global, cross-functional team.
