Finding the right candidate for this Purchasing Assistant role is crucial in ensuring the hotel's operational excellence.

This position involves various tasks including sourcing and acquiring materials, supplies, equipment, tools, chemicals, and other essential items while maintaining the highest standards of quality and quantity. The ideal candidate will be responsible for vendor coordination, price negotiation, and compliance with procurement best practices.

  1. The successful candidate will receive and review all Purchase Requisition (PR) documents to ensure prompt actions are taken on all purchase requests.
  2. They will provide feedback to the management team and requisitioning department on market conditions, product availability, price trends, and other relevant information related to requisitioned products.
  3. The Purchasing Assistant will obtain price quotations at all times to ensure competitive pricing.
  4. They will maintain and control purchasing documents such as catalogues, directions, magazines, and others.
  5. The candidate must ensure that prices are competitive by obtaining three (3) or more bids from suppliers.
  6. Regular updates on price quotations are a must.
  7. The successful candidate will monitor supplier reliability and dependability, and establish contacts with prospective suppliers.
  8. They will inspect and verify received goods to ensure they conform to purchase specifications.
  9. The Purchasing Assistant will monitor staggered deliveries to ensure complete delivery of items.
  10. Reports on undelivered items will be prepared and submitted to the management team.
  11. The candidate may perform other duties as directed by management from time to time.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's / College degree in Marketing or any Business Course
  • At least 3 years of work experience in a large hotel chain or equivalent
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to start immediately
  • Amenable to work onsite in Alabang, Muntinlupa
