Bookkeeper Job Description

The Bookkeeper role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices and payments in a timely manner, and reconciling accounts. This position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and general ledgers.
  • Process invoices and payments in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
  • Reconcile accounts and prepare financial reports, identifying discrepancies and resolving issues promptly.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting, providing financial insights and recommendations.
  • Communicate with vendors and clients regarding payment inquiries, ensuring prompt resolution and excellent customer service.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
  • Evaluate and improve accounting procedures, recommending process enhancements and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or a related field.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and other relevant tools.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, including GAAP and financial regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with vendors, clients, and colleagues.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred.
