Job Title:

Network Engineer II

Description:

This role oversees the network infrastructure related to connectivity solutions, ensuring network health, disaster recovery exercises, and other activities affecting the network.

  1. Drive collaboration with partners and suppliers to ensure stability of the network and voice infrastructure through daily operations.
  2. Monitor and manage LAN/WAN networks, connectivity between data centers, sites, and extranets.
  3. Maintain up-to-date network device firmware and OS; apply and upgrade patches regularly.
  4. Automate daily network tasks using scripting (Python).
  5. Support, configure, and manage Cisco routers, switches, and event correlation appliances during infrastructure project phases.
  6. Maximize network performance through monitoring, scheduling upgrades, and collaborating on network optimization.
  7. Serve as the escalation point for network issues within the organization and manage communication processes in a 24x7 environment.
  8. Foster engagement with business parties and external vendors for operations management.
  9. Provide comprehensive product knowledge for data technology supporting network infrastructure.
  10. Manage external vendors such as carriers and cabling contractors for project and daily needs.
  11. Coordinate and adhere to Change Management policies and procedures for network changes.
  12. Maintain and update network documentation and risk assessments as needed.
  13. Execute IT projects aimed at infrastructure enhancement.

Requirements:

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in networking technologies and protocols.
  • Strong understanding of LAN/WAN networks and connectivity solutions.
  • Ability to automate daily network tasks using scripting languages like Python.
  • Experience with Cisco routers, switches, and event correlation appliances.
  • Knowledge of network security best practices and threat mitigation strategies.
