Job Description: As an accounting specialist, you will play a vital role in maintaining key financial records and ensuring the accuracy of transactions. Day-to-day activities will involve recording income and outgoings, as well as posting them to various accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain accurate financial records and ledgers.
- Perform daily tasks such as reconciliations and coding.
- Prepare and review financial reports for management.
- Process payroll through Xero and ensure compliance with all regulations.
- Process supplier invoices in Hubdoc and ensure timely payments.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing management accounts packs from Xero.
- Perform end-of-year reconciliations and returns for BAS.
- Worker Compensation estimates and actuals declarations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Education:
- Graduate degree in Finance or Accounting.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) is preferred.
Product Knowledge:
- Complete knowledge of client accounts and businesses.
- General Australian Accounting/Bookkeeping experience with solid background.
- 3 years or more of experience in Australian accounts.
- Knowledge of Australian Taxation and Compliance is advantageous.
- Hands-on experience with accounting tools such as Xero and Hubdoc.
- Ability to learn new systems and tools as needed.
- Ensures quality of work being delivered without supervision.
- Demonstrated creative and critical thinking skills.
Communications Skills:
- Good oral and written communication skills.
